The board is responsible for the everyday issues concerning the SIB. It supports Committees and Projectgroups in their activities, and it always listens to questions coming up out of the association. On Mondays, the board has a meeting about practical issues concerning the SIB, but also about our policy. A few times a year the board is held accountable for their actions at the General Assembly of Members (GAM). At this Assembly the members of SIB can ask questions, offer opinions and amusing stories. The six functions of the Board-members are as following:
The President leads the boards and the association. An important part of his or her job is to organize the communication and cooperation within the boards as well as motivating and coordinating board members. The President presides over the board meeting and General Assemblies. He or she is the face of the organization.
The Secretary is in charge over the entire administration of the student association. This includes membership administration, mail and archives. He or she also takes care of the communication between the SIB and VVV-SIB, our alumni. He or she also takes care of the paperwork surrounding the General Assembly, such as the invitations, minutes and policy papers. The Secretary also sends the weekly mail and newsletter.
The Treasurer is responsbile for the financial part of the association, by taking care of the financial administration. He or she also makes the budgets for each organ of the organization. The Treasures takes care of the communication with these organs to remain updated of the finances of the entire association.
The Commissioner of Internal Affairs is the board member all members, Student groups and Committees can contact if they have any questions. He or she is responsible for the activities during the year. The Commissioner of Internal Affairs also informs all the members of the different possibilities the members have within the organization to become active within student group and commission to help organise activies throughout the year.
The Commissioner of External Affairs takes care of the communication with company, funds and governmental organizations who are able to support the SIB financially or otherwise. He or she coordinates and stimulates the fundraising of Committees and Project groups. As the name says, the Commissioner of External Affairs is responsible for external contacts of the student association.
The Commissioner of Public Relations is responsible for the image of the SIB. He or she is in charge of promoting the association and making sure there is steady inflow of members. The Commissioner of Public Relations is always looking for original ways to promote SIB and her activities.
