Europe Celebrates its 60-year Epic
In May 2010, 60 years after the Schuman Declaration (which marked the beginning of the European Union), the European Centre of Robert Schuman (CERS) and its partners organise a European festival in which all 27 member states of the European Union take part. We wish to remember, commemorate and reflect upon Europe’s current state of affairs and future. The festival will take place in Metz and Scy-Chazelles, the hometown of Schuman.
Each EU country is to contribute with a delegation of 10 young people (18-25 years-old). Attached you will find a detailed description of the project. Briefly, there are three stages:
- 8 April – 4 May: research, each delegation prepares itself individually
- 5 May– 7 May: trip throughout Europe (for the routes see programme, page 9)
- 7 May – 10 May: project and stay in France (see programme, page 18)
Accommodation, food and programme costs are covered by the CERS. The participation fees per young person are 50-100€, depending on their country of origin. The role of each partner consists of finding 10 participants and being CERS’s national spokesperson.
